General Introduction
Graphitization is a process of transforming a carbonaceous material, such as coal, graphite, into graphite, it is often used to describe the heat treatment of carbon artifacts to high temperature.

The graphitization process involves a restructuring of the molecular structure of the carbon material, graphitization generally occurs at high temperature (up to 3000ºC (5430ºF)). Carbotech high temp graphite furnaces can reach 3000ºC, which can make carbon atoms reaarange and form layered crystal planes, which greatly improve properties such as good electrical and thermal conductivity, low friction and excellent lubrication.
